Pre-Academy

The Pre-Academy is focused on preparing players for the Development Academy, the highest level of play in the FC Greater Boston player system. FC Greater Boston is one of 78 Clubs across the United States to be selected by US Soccer Federation to participate in this exclusive program. Age groups for pre-Academy are based on player’s year of birth (i.e. 1996, 1997 or 1998). All participating clubs are exclusive members of US Soccer Development Academy (USSDA). The US Club Soccer National Premier League – Northeast is created to provide a league that is (i) focused on long-term development; (ii) for the region’s top boys soccer clubs, allowing consistent, meaningful high-level games appropriately scheduled with higher training-to-game ratios; (iii) that allows players to be scouted and evaluated by US Soccer National Staff and Technical Advisors; (iv) that is designed and structured by the member clubs, based on the needs of the member clubs; (v) using international rules of competition; and (vi) that provides an avenue for qualification for a national NPL League Champions Cup. Teams practice twice per week and play games on Saturday and/or Sunday. Practices are held at Brandeis, BB&N and Harvard. In addition to practices and games, teams play in two to three tournaments per year.  The club fees for 2011-12 are $2600 for the pre-Academy teams.
